Cultivae Terms of Use
On this page
Version 1.0 · effective October 13, 2026 Portuguese version: Português. For users in Brazil, the Portuguese version prevails.
Welcome to Cultivae. These Terms set out the rules for using the app and its related services. We have tried to write them as clearly as we can. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your data.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country that cannot be waived by contract, such as those under Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (CDC) and the consumer laws of the European Union, the United Kingdom, and US states.
1. Who we are and acceptance
Cultivae is provided by THE DELUSIONAL COMPANY DESENVOLVIMENTO DE SOFTWARE SOB ENCOMENDA LTDA, CNPJ 67.758.390/0001-34, with its registered office in São Paulo/SP, Brazil ("Cultivae," "we," "us"). Contact: contact@cultivaeapp.com.
By using Cultivae, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Some features (backup, AI assistant, community) ask for their own consents, which you can give or refuse separately.
2. What Cultivae is
Cultivae is a daily Christian spiritual companion: journeys and devotionals, a Bible reader, a prayer time with a timer, a private journal, prayer requests and testimonies, personal consistency and faithfulness tracking, reminders and, optionally, an AI Bible assistant and a community prayer wall.
Independence and trademarks. Cultivae is an independent app. Its content draws on practices and campaigns associated with the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus (IURD, the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God), such as the Daniel Fast, which are referenced descriptively. Cultivae is not affiliated with, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by the IURD or any other church or religious organization, and does not speak on their behalf. Names of churches, campaigns, and events, and other trademarks mentioned, belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Cultivae does not receive tithes, offerings, or donations to churches.
3. Who can use Cultivae
- Minimum age to use the app: 13 in the United States and the United Kingdom; 16 in the European Economic Area; 16 in Brazil.
- Community (public wall): 18 and older only.
- Subscription: if you are under 18, subscribe only with your parent's or legal guardian's permission. The stores offer parental purchase controls.
- You confirm that the information you give us (such as your birth year) is true.
4. Your account
- The app works without an account. Your data stays on your device. To use the AI assistant or view the community wall without an account, we create an anonymous session: a random identifier, with no email.
- An optional account (with a code sent by email, Sign in with Apple, or Google) is required for backup and sync, posting to the community, and reporting content.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your email and device secure. Tell us immediately if you suspect misuse: contact@cultivaeapp.com.
- You can delete your account at any time in Profile > Settings > Account > Delete my account or on the page cultivaeapp.com/en/delete-account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought on the App Store or Google Play (see section 5).
5. Plans, subscriptions, and payments
5.1 Free and Premium
- Free: Bible, daily step, prayer time, journal, and 1 journey.
- Premium (subscription): all journeys and campaigns, the AI assistant (with a fair daily usage quota), cloud backup and, in the future, audio. The exact contents of each plan are shown on the subscription screen before purchase. We may add features to Premium; if we remove an essential feature from an ongoing subscription, we will give reasonable advance notice and you may cancel.
5.2 How the subscription works
- We offer monthly and annual auto-renewing plans, sold through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google).
- The price, currency, and billing period are shown on the subscription screen before purchase, based on your country's store and including applicable taxes.
- 7-day free trial: when offered, it applies to eligible new subscribers under the store's rules. When the trial ends, the subscription is charged automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, Premium access ends when the trial ends.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews at the end of each period at the same price and billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- How to cancel: through the store. On iPhone: Settings > (your name) > Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. After you cancel, Premium access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Restore purchases: on another device with the same store account, use the Restore button at the top of the subscription screen.
- Payment: Apple or Google processes the charge under their terms. We never receive your card details.
5.3 Refunds and withdrawal rights
- Refunds are handled by the store where you bought. Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play: through your Google account's order history or the Google Play Help Center. We cannot directly refund a store purchase.
- Brazil (CDC Art. 49): because the contract is made away from a physical store, you may withdraw within 7 days of contracting (or of the first charge at the end of a free trial) and receive a full refund of amounts paid. Request the refund through the store, citing CDC Art. 49. If the store refuses, write to contact@cultivaeapp.com and we will help you get your money back from the store.
- European Union and United Kingdom: you have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts. Because you buy through the App Store or Google Play, withdrawal and refunds follow the store's procedures, which honor this right for digital purchases. If you ask for Premium access to start immediately, during the withdrawal period, and then withdraw, the law may allow a proportionate charge for the time already used. For digital content supplied immediately with your express consent and acknowledgment that you lose the right, the right may no longer apply. The purchase screen shows this notice where applicable.
- United States: Apple's and Google's refund policies apply, together with any rights under your state's law.
5.4 Price changes
We may change prices. A change applies only from the next billing period and is announced in advance by the store, which may ask for your agreement. If you do not agree, you can cancel before renewal.
6. AI Bible assistant
The assistant uses artificial intelligence (Claude models, from Anthropic) to support Bible study.
- It is a study aid. Answers are generated automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or debatable interpretations. Always check against the Bible text (the app shows the referenced verses) and, on matters of faith, with your spiritual leadership.
- It is not pastoral, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. The assistant does not replace a pastor, a health professional, or any other expert. Do not make important decisions about health, money, relationships, or legal matters based only on its answers.
- AI-generated answers are labeled as such. The assistant does not speak for any church.
- Appropriate use: do not use the assistant for illegal purposes, to generate hateful content, or to try to get around its safeguards. There is a daily usage quota that depends on your plan.
- Report inappropriate answers by writing to contact@cultivaeapp.com.
- Do not include personal information about yourself or others in your questions.
If you are in crisis or in danger, please get help now:
- United States: 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call or text) · Emergency 911.
- United Kingdom and Ireland: Samaritans 116 123 · Emergency 999 or 112.
- European Union: Emergency 112. In many countries, the emotional support line is 116 123.
- Brazil: CVV 188 (24 hours, free, or cvv.org.br) · SAMU 192 · Police 190.
7. Community rules (prayer wall)
The community exists so that people can pray for one another. To keep it safe and welcoming, when you post, pray, or report, you agree not to:
- Ask for money, donations, PIX transfers, bank details, payment links, or crowdfunding, or promote products, services, fundraising campaigns, profiles, or commercial links.
- Expose other people: do not post full names, phone numbers, addresses, photos, diagnoses, intimate situations, or any detail that identifies someone else. Speak generally ("my mother," "a friend").
- Post your own contact details or information that would let someone locate you.
- Post hate speech or discrimination, including against other religions, denominations, churches, or religious leaders; or harass, threaten, humiliate, or bully anyone.
- Make dangerous medical or health claims, such as telling someone to stop treatment or medication, or promising healing in exchange for anything.
- Post sexual, violent, or illegal content, content that encourages self-harm or suicide, or content involving the exploitation of minors. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.
- Spread harmful misinformation, or impersonate anyone (including churches, pastors, or Cultivae itself).
- Spam, post repetitive content, use automation or fake accounts, or try to get around limits and blocks.
- Infringe others' rights, such as copyright (do not paste long passages from books or from copyrighted Bible translations) and image rights.
- Post partisan political content or election campaigning.
If someone is in immediate danger (for example, talking about suicide), use "Report > Risk" and, if you can, contact the emergency services listed in section 6.
Remember: posts are public to all users of the same language, stay up for 30 days, and can be copied by others. Show only your first name or choose "Anonymous."
8. Moderation, reports, and appeals
- Moderation before and after posting: every post goes through an automated AI review and may be reviewed by members of our team. We may decline, hide, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms or the law.
- Reports: anyone with an account can report a post in the app (reasons: offensive, spam, personal data, risk, or other). A post reported by 3 people is hidden until it is reviewed. We review reports promptly and prioritize safety risks.
- Blocking: you can block the author of a post so you no longer see their posts. They are not notified.
- Notice of illegal content: besides the report button, anyone, including people who do not use the app, can tell us about illegal content at contact@cultivaeapp.com, stating where the content is, why it is illegal, and a contact.
- Statement of reasons and appeal: when we remove a post of yours or restrict your account, we will tell you, explain why, and say whether the decision was automated. You may request human review within 6 months by replying to the notice or writing to contact@cultivaeapp.com. We will respond with reasons. In the European Union, you may also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body and contact the competent authorities.
- Point of contact for authorities: authorities can reach us at contact@cultivaeapp.com, in Portuguese or English.
- We are not obliged to monitor all content, but we act when we become aware of violations.
9. Your content
- Your content is yours. Your journal, prayers, requests, testimonies, notes, and posts remain yours.
- Private content (on your device or in backup): we use it only to store and sync it for you.
- Content you post to the community: by posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, limited license to host, store, reproduce, reformat, and display that content in Cultivae, solely to operate and moderate the community, for as long as the post exists and for the deletion period described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your posts in advertising or marketing, or to train AI models, without your separate, express consent.
- You confirm that you have the right to post what you post and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
10. Acceptable use of the app
You agree not to: (a) copy, modify, decompile, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows; (b) extract data by automated means (scraping) or access our servers by unauthorized means; (c) get around quotas, limits, blocks, or security measures; (d) resell or commercially exploit the app or the AI assistant; (e) use the app unlawfully or in ways that harm others or the service.
11. Cultivae content, the Bible, and intellectual property
- Bible texts: the app uses public-domain translations: the Tradução Brasileira (1917) in Portuguese and the World English Bible (WEB) in English. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org; the text is used unmodified, in line with the project's conditions.
- Other content (journeys, devotionals, text, design, illustrations, photographs, the "Cultivae" name and logo, software): belongs to Cultivae or its licensors and is protected by law. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it in the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Sharing verses: you may share verses and images generated by the app for personal, non-commercial use.
- Copyright complaints: write to contact@cultivaeapp.com identifying the work, the content in question, and your contact details.
12. About religious content
Cultivae's devotional content reflects a Christian perspective and draws on practices of the Universal Church without officially representing it. It is offered to support your personal life of faith and does not replace guidance from your church or spiritual leadership. We respect people who believe differently and ask the same of everyone in community areas.
Health: nothing in Cultivae (devotionals, fasts, challenges, AI, or community) is medical advice. Before an extended fast or any routine change that affects your health, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or take medication, consult a health professional. Never stop a treatment without medical advice.
13. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or end access to the community, the assistant, or your account, proportionately, if you violate these Terms or the law, or to protect others and the service. Whenever possible and permitted, we will notify you and explain why (see section 8). This does not affect data stored on your device.
- If we close your account without a violation on your part, or discontinue the service, we will give reasonable advance notice so you can export your data, and explain how to obtain a pro-rata refund of paid, unused periods where the law requires it.
- You may stop using Cultivae at any time.
14. Availability and changes
We work to keep Cultivae available and working well, but online features (backup, AI, and community) may be unavailable because of maintenance, third-party failures, or reasons beyond our control. We may update, improve, or change features. Changes that materially worsen a paid service will be announced in advance. Keep backup on or export your data regularly: data kept only on your device is lost if the device is lost or the app is deleted.
15. Liability
- We provide Cultivae with care and in accordance with the law. We are liable for damage we cause as provided by applicable law, including Brazil's CDC.
- To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and without affecting consumer rights that cannot be waived, we are not liable for: (a) content posted by other users, except as provided by law; (b) decisions made solely on the basis of AI answers, contrary to the warnings in these Terms; (c) loss of data kept only on your device because the device or app is lost, damaged, reset, or uninstalled; (d) failures caused by third parties beyond our control (stores, carriers, internet providers) or by events beyond reasonable control.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
- US users: to the fullest extent permitted by your state's law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid in the previous 12 months and US$50. Some states do not allow these limitations; if so, they do not apply to you.
16. Governing law and disputes
- Talk to us first: most issues are resolved quickly at contact@cultivaeapp.com. We reply within 5 business days.
- Brazil: these Terms are governed by Brazilian law. You may use consumidor.gov.br, Procon, or the courts. The courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction (CDC Art. 101(I)).
- European Union and United Kingdom: these Terms are governed by Brazilian law, without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, which continue to apply. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
- United States: these Terms are governed by Brazilian law, except where your state's law requires otherwise, and without affecting your state's mandatory consumer protections. You may bring a claim in the competent small claims court.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app at least 15 days in advance, unless urgency arises from the law or user safety. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app, cancel your subscription in the store, and delete your account. Continuing to use the app after the effective date means you accept the changes, where the law allows.
18. General
If any clause is held invalid, the rest remain in force. Not exercising a right does not waive it. You may not transfer these Terms without our agreement; we may transfer them in a corporate reorganization, preserving your rights. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the consents you give form the entire agreement between you and Cultivae. The stores (Apple and Google) are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the app, but their terms also apply to purchases. If you download the app from the App Store, your use is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of that agreement and of these Terms and may enforce them.
