Moment of prayer

Midday prayer

A pause in the middle of the day.

First prayer

Be still

Stop what you're doing, just for a minute. Turn your heart toward God.

Hear the Word

Evening, morning, and at noon, I will cry out in distress. He will hear my voice.

Psalms 55:17 · World English Bible

Evening, morning and noon: David prayed in the middle of his routine, and God heard him. The middle of your day is a place for prayer too.

Ask

Lord, look at what is weighing on me right now. Give me patience with people and clarity about what's left to do.

Yield

I go back to my tasks with you. The rest of the day is yours. Amen.

Second prayer

Be still

Come as you are. Admit the tiredness before God, without blaming yourself for it.

Hear the Word

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 · World English Bible

Jesus doesn't ask the weary for more effort: He calls them close and offers rest. Accept the invitation now.

Ask

Jesus, I come as I am. Lighten what overwhelms me and teach me your pace, gentle and humble.

Yield

I leave with you the weight I don't need to carry alone. Amen.

Third prayer

Be still

Close your eyes for a moment. Let the noise around you settle.

Hear the Word

but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 · World English Bible

Those who wait on the Lord receive new strength — not because they are strong, but because they wait on Him. Where is your strength running out?

Ask

Father, renew my strength for the second half of the day. Keep me from rushing in vain or wearing myself out far from you.

Yield

I wait on you. I move forward with the strength that comes from you. Amen.
